From Within is exactly what the title suggests: fourteen songs (plus three dubs by Tippy I-Grade), carefully crafted by Winta James and Mortimer himself, taking us deep into the latter’s heart-space.
From the first time we heard Mortimer on Protejes album on the song protection we knew he was onto something special, the Tuff Gong artist has since gone on to release amazingly gentle music with a powerful messege
This latest project sounds more like the current music you hear on the radio with a touch of roots reggae mixed with a hip hop influence rather than the traditional roots reggae heartbeat all the way through the track list.
Either way it works with this artist and his vocals stand out strong on all 14 tracks.
Mortimer has been one of my favorite artist for some time now his songs along with the riddims and acoustics all resonate with i dramaticly its as if this music was made for me personally he is definetly on the correct vibration level and will contiue to grow in the industry im sure of that, overall this is a brilliant body of work that i enjoyed listening to i believe this album is ahead of time with the production and more listeners will gravitate towrds this as time goes by this is available on Spotify check it out here
